The Center provides services for the Faculty staff, students and the public through advice and assistance in scientific information resources on scientific research, as well as offering services in compilation, analysis, examination and preparation of report on research publication and follow up of citation frequency used in the academic ranking or assessment, focussing on quality and high standards. In addition to this, the Center is responsible for organizing trainings and seminars in scientific information resources to disseminate knowledge to the students, faculty staff, and the general public. The Center cooperates with the departments in the Faculty to integrate the knowledge on information resources for scientific research in the learning and teaching for both undergraduate and graduate levels.

The responsibilities of the Center include:

1. developing information resources on scientific research:
   • follow the movement and advancement of information resources on scientific research worldwide via internet
   • survey, analyse, and compile scientific information resources that are useful for the development of research work of the Faculty
   • serve as a center for an exchange of ideas and experience of the use of information resources among researchers and research supporters in order to create a bank of wisdom and cooperation so that the development of the Faculty's information resources will move in the right direction.

2. providing services of information resources on scientific research through an electronic medium and aiming at extending the use of information resources to researchers at the Faculty of Science at all levels:
   • provide administrators with Faculty publications analysis
   • follow the trend of scientific research for the benefits of research management
   • offer services in compilation, analysis, examination and preparation of report of research publications and follow up citation frequency used in the academic ranking or assessment focussing on quality and high standard.

3. organizing trainings and seminars in scientific information resources to construct knowledge on scientific information resources for the faculty staff by team learning. The Center cooperates with the Department in integrating the knowledge on information resources for scientific research in the learning and teaching of both undergraduate and graduate levels.

4. compiling research done at the Faculty of Science from the past until the present:
   • compile paper-based documents and transfer them into an electronic medium for the convenience in preparing database and retrieving the information
   • develop and maintain database system for research as well as researchers database, knowledge database and researcher wisdom
   • analyse research statistics and create bibliometric indicators as tools to stipulate a guideline for the Faculty's research.

5. publicizing research findings for acedemic and commerical purposes. The Center cooperates with other faculties in publicizing the Faculty's research results so as to disseminate the knowledge to the public and to disseminate the research findings and inventions to the private sector so that they can implement it in the industrial business sectors.

6. conducting research on scientific information resources and using the findings to apply in the development of scientific information resources at the faculty, university and national level.

7. providing cooperation and services on scientific information resources to other offices both inside and outside the university including allied science faculties from all over the country, and public and private sectors that are responsible for the scientific information resources.
