M.Sc. PROGRAM (PHYSIOLOGY & EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY) :


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR M.Sc. STUDENTS

               Applicants must have a B.Sc. degree, in any discipline, with aminimum G.P.A. of. 2.50 (on a 4.0 scale), or its equivalent. All regulations of the Faculty of Graduate Studies must b fulfilled.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
               Applications may be obtained at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Salaya Campus, between the end of October and mid-December. Completed application forms may be submitted by mail, internet (http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th), or in person, before the announced deadline.  In addition, an entrance examination is required. The written part of the exam is given in December. This includes an aptitude test (in Thai) and a test of English proficiency. Qualified applicants will be interviewed, in English, by the staff of the Physiology Department, as a final step in the selection process.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR M.Sc. STUDENTS
To be qualifed for graduation, the student must:
1. Spend a minimum of 2 years and not more than 4 years of full time study.
2. Complete at least the minimum number of credits required.
3. Successfully defend a thesis and submit the approved thesis to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.



Ph.D. PROGRAM (PHYSIOLOGY & EXERCISE SCIENCE) :


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR Ph.D. STUDENTS

1. Applicants with a degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science or Pharmacy, or a B.Sc. degree in any discipline with a GPA not less than 3.50, or those with an M.Sc. degree with good academic record.
2. Applicants with a GPA below 3.50 may contact the Chairman of the Department or a Graduate Program advisor and submit their transcripts with letters of recommendation from qualified individuals.
3. Foreign applicants may submit their transcripts/records directly to the Department. A minimum TOEFL score of 500 is required.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Students may apply to the Ph.D. program year-round, directly to the Department of Physiology or through the Faculty of Graduate Studies. (http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th)

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR Ph.D. STUDENTS

To qualify for graduation, the student must:
1. Complete all the requirements for the degree within 8 years, from the date of first enrollment.
The expected duration of the Ph.D. Program is normally 4 calendar years.
2. Earn the minimum number of credits (from either B.Sc. or M.Sc.) required.
3. Obtain a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) with a minimum grade of B in all compulsory courses.
4. Perform satisfactorily in the qualifying examinations, as required for Ph.D. Students.
5. Produce a Ph.D. dissertation, which represents the end-product towards which the program is directed.

               This demonstrates that the student has the required skills to do independent and original research, and has written it for dissemination. The requirements for the Ph.D. degree include either an international publication (such as an ISI database), or work that merits a patent.
