Molecular biology and functional studies of the cytochrome
P450 genes that play role in detoxification of xenobiotics
in insects and of the P450 gene in the bile acid synthesis
pathway |
| |
| Current Research : |
| My main interest in research has
recently been focused on the role of Anopheles minimus CYP6AA3
and CYP6P7 cytochrome P450 enzymes in the metabolism of pyrethroid
insecticides. The specific aims are to: |
| 1) Establish the CYP6AA3 and CYP6P7
cytochrome P450s and the the NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase
(CPR) expression system. |
| 2) Express CYP6AA3 and CYP6P7 enzymes
and examine the substrate preferences of the enzymes relative
to pesticide metabolism, using cytochrome P450-CPR reconstitution
system. |
| 3) Mutation of CPR and activity
