Center for Cassava Molecular Biotechnology (CASS-MOL-BIOTECH)

OBJECTIVES

The ultimate goals of this research center are to generate basic knowledge by integrating biochemical and molecular genetics approaches to broaden our insight in starch metabolism (both synthesis and breakdown), and serve as center to collaborate with other national and international institutions.

The research projects being conducted covers wide aspects of study in cassava, from gene identification, expression analysis, protein structure and enzyme function, genetic manipulation, to marker assisted selection in breeding program, plant pathosystem and system biology.

RESEARCH AREA

Specific Approach to Study Enzymes and Genes Related to Starch Biosynthesis
Gene Discovery by Genome-Wide Analysis of the Cassava Transcriptome and Proteome
Cassava Gene Function Study and Transgenic Approach
Genetic Analysis and QTL Mapping of Agronomically Important Traits of Cassava
Cassava Pathosystems in Thailand
Systemic-Based Studies of Plant Starch Metabolism
